Anti-Cybercrime Law

Any act using a computer or information network that constitutes an assault on systems or data is considered an information crime.

Victims of cybercrime have the right to claim civil compensation before the competent court.

Unlawful interception of data carries up to one year imprisonment and a five million riyal fine.

Unauthorized access to a website to modify or damage it carries up to four years imprisonment and a three million riyal fine.

Creating a website to facilitate or finance terrorism is punishable by five years imprisonment and a three million riyal fine.

Defamation or harm via information technology carries up to one year imprisonment and a 500,000 riyal fine.

This Law's application does not prejudice any harsher penalty stipulated in any other law.

Criminal courts have jurisdiction over crimes stipulated in this Law.

The court may order confiscation of devices and equipment used in committing the crime.

Penalties are doubled in cases of repetition or if the cybercrime was committed in an organized manner.
